Heaven in a Wildflower

By using the phytogram filmmaking process, I was able to harness the unique chemistry of desert wildflower petals to create stunning prints on undeveloped black and white film. This fascinating journey, explored the tiny worlds that exist within our larger universe, revealing the beauty that lies within our own surroundings. The image is printed on brushed aluminum with a matte finish, 20×20″, 2024

“Plexus Projects is pleased to present the second edition of GUI/GOOEY, a series of exhibitions exploring digital representations of the biological world. GUI/GOOEY features artworks that examine notions of “life” and “nature” with computational, technological, digital, and virtual tools. The selected artists reflect a range of perspectives with international representation from more than twenty countries. Together they simultaneously interrogate liminal sensations and materialities of membranes and interfaces, bits and bodies.

GUI/GOOEY IS SIMULTANEOUSLY…
— digital, computational, software, interfaces, menus, icons, cursors, tools, user settings, skeuomorphism, progress bars, crashes, glitches, memory, blockchain, crypto, ai, ones, zeros, bits, bytes
— biological, corporeal, fleshy, visceral, wet, oozing, slimy, dripping, viscous, sticky, syrupy, mucilaginous, glutinous, tacky, gummy, embodiment, materiality, tactility, seduction, repulsion, bits, bites.”
